Problems With Steve Jobs and Bill Gates
This was made for my article
My disagreements with Whatifalthist, as a fan.
It became so bloated that I turned it into a separate article.
I’m a capitalist too, but these Bill Gates and Steven Jobs are terrible examples of people who earned wealth. Better examples of people earning wealth would be Henry Ford and Kiichiro Toyoda.
Bill Gates is not a programmer. He’s a thief and conman, and the product he’s famous for, the Windows family of operating systems, is bloated, slow, malware-prone, and unfree (you cannot view or change the source code, which is akin to having a car that you can’t open the hood on, & only the manufacturer can open the hood behind closed doors), in contrast to the Linux-based operating systems, which is little to no more difficult to install than Windows (Ubuntu was released on October 20th, 2004). Bill Gates got into the business of operating systems at just the right time, being the 1990’s, with the rise of the internet.

When it comes to Steve Jobs, he said “Good artists copy. Great artists steal“. Apple is notoriously unethical, with employees of one of its contract manufacturers, Foxconn, treated terribly to the point of suicide, & Apple going after employees like something out of a spy novel.
Steve Jobs has active fought against jailbreaking the iPod and iPhone (History of Jailbreaking). In other words, he actively fought against people having the freedom to do what they want with their own property.
Apple is also infamously anti-repair, deliberately designing its products to be un-repairable, as documented by Louis Rossman, Northridgefix, and others.
Disproving Apples Lies About Sideloading Apps
To this very day, Apple’s Mac computers are absolute ripoffs, compared to what you can make yourself;
Apple Won't Like The "Mac" I Built...
If you want a laptop with AMD hardware, there are few powerful laptops with both an AMD CPU and GPU, such as those made by System76, or if you have a big budget, Alienware m17
I would personally only Hackintosh if I was making a workstation, (which also may double as a gaming computer), since you it’s such a pain to get macOS to run on non-Apple hardware, with the operating system having security vulnerabilities and other software bugs, and you can run many Windows games on Linux by using compatibility layers or, on a powerful computer, a virtual machine such as QEMU.

In my opinion, an example of a good person in technology would be Linus Torvalds, who made the world’s best kernel (the foundation of an operating system) and gave it to the world, both free and, even more importantly, open-source.
When it comes to hardware, look to Framework, Fairphone, and Purism are examples of giving freedom to the end-user.
When it comes to why software should be free and more importantly, open-source, Richard Stallman can probably explain better than I can. Though Mental Outlaw makes a good summary for that case:
Why You Should Use Free Software

When it comes to which Linux distribution (operating system) to use on your computer, I recommend Linux Mint. It’s probably easier than you think to install.
Top 5 Linux Distros for Beginners
I also recommend seeing my playlist Poverty tier laptops ] Laptops for poor people ] Lightest Linux distros ] Linux for slow computers, which does contain some Linux distributions for slightly more advanced users such as CachyOS, becuase its Zen kernel, which prioritizes performance (for example, CachyOS with LXQt or maybe LXDE if, say, your laptop has 4 GB of RAM and has a Celeron or AMD equivalent CPU).
